Article for Flora and Fauna of Aotearoa on DOC’s Predator Free 2050 review and feral cats
Flora and Fauna of Aotearoa is an independent not-for-profit that advocates for ethical, science-based environmental protection in Aotearoa New Zealand – free from political agendas and greenwashing. They commissioned me to write a public-facing article in response to DOC’s Predator Free 2050 strategy review, which includes questions about whether feral cats should be added to the official predator list.
The article needed to balance facts with compassion, speak to both pet owners and conservation-minded readers, and offer constructive, humane alternatives to current approaches. It also needed to be accessible to the general public while staying grounded in evidence.
The client’s response:
“I am so very grateful, and VERY IMPRESSED at your work! It’s fantastic.”
